Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a method for the automated open-loop and closed-loop control of a machine (1) for applying lubricant to one or both sides of a substrate, more particularly a metal sheet (2). The machine (1) comprises at least one application unit (3); at least one pump unit (5) connected to the at least one application unit (3) by means of at least one transport line (4); at least one sensing unit (7) for carrying out a spatially resolved optical or spectroscopic measurement method; an open-loop and closed-loop control unit (8); and a data processing unit (9). The method comprises the steps a. to g. specified in claim 1. The invention further relates to a device for the automated open-loop and closed-loop control of a machine (1) for applying lubricant to one or both sides of a substrate, wherein the machine (1) has features a. to f. as per claim 26. The method according to the invention and the device according to the invention solve the problem of permitting a fully-automated and continuous procedure taking account of the method quality and optionally with the adaptation of control parameters.
