Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to an apparatus for sorting material in the form of powder, granules or pellets. According to the invention, particles, granules or pellets of different materials are conducted one by one towards a device designed to separate different particles or pellets. Raman or fluorescence radiation is generated by directing a beam onto the surface of the particle or pellet material. The Raman or fluorescence radiation strikes a detector array. At least approximately monochromatic electromagnetic radiation is directed onto the particles or pellets, the central wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation not causing any influence on the Raman or fluorescence radiation. Between the particles or pellets and the detector array an optical filter or a beamsplitter is arranged. Radiation and detection takes place during a relative movement between the particles or pellets, the focus region of the beam, the diodes emitting electromagnetic radiation and the detectors. At least the detectors are connected to an electronic analysis unit which is designed for the spatially and spectrally resolved analysis of the spectral intensities of the Raman and fluorescence radiation detected by the detectors and for carrying out an image analysis for identifying the shape and position of individual particles or pellets, said electronic analysis unit being connected to a control for separating different particles or pellets.
