Zusammenfassung:The panel 100 comprises an insulating core sandwiched between first and second shell elements, each shell comprising a tongue at one end of the panel and a groove at the opposing end, the tongues and grooves of adjacent panels configured to co-operate with each other to form joints, each tongue and each groove having a respective first and second reinforcing member 108, 107 to provide reinforcement of the joints. The shells may be formed from metal. The reinforcing members may be steel plates, and be U shaped, J shaped, hook shaped, T shaped, Z shaped, or S shaped. The tongue may extend along the length of the panel, with a third reinforcing member engaged with the tongue at the opposing longitudinal ends. Also claimed is a joint assembly for a firewall comprising at least two of the sandwich panels, with a fixing means 106 extending through a joint formed by the cooperable engagement of the tongues and grooves of first and second panels for stitching the firewall to a support structure. The fixing means may comprise a screw or bolt. Also claimed is a firewall comprising a plurality of the sandwich panels.
