CONTROL METHODS AND DEVICES FOR ENERGY DELIVERY

The present invention relates to a system (10) for delivering energy to a wall tissue of a lung, the system configured to record a map of at least a portion of the lung, the system comprising an RF energy generator (12), an RF energy delivery catheter (18) for applying treatment in the lung, a locating system (138), a locating implement (140) coupled to the RF energy delivery catheter and communicating with the locating system to track the RF energy delivery catheter as it moves within the lung, and a controller (14) coupled to the RF energy generator and configured to control the energy output of the RF energy generator, wherein the system is configured to prevent providing therapy to a particular site if the map and associated parameters indicate that the RF energy delivery catheter is in a location that was previously treated.
