BALCONY ASSEMBLY

A balcony assembly that is designed to project from an exterior building surface (2) along a main direction (1), comprising: - a lower functional surface (3) running substantially horizontally along the main direction (1), wherein the lower functional surface (3) forms or supports, in particular, a balcony floor (4) that can be walked on; - an upper functional surface (5) likewise running substantially horizontally along the main direction (1), wherein: the upper functional surface (5) is positioned higher than the lower functional surface (3); the upper functional surface (5) projects outwards beyond the lower functional surface (3) along the main direction (1); and the upper functional surface (5) forms or supports, in particular, a seating surface (6), a storage surface or a plant substrate surface (7); - and a safety railing (8), the safety railing (8) projecting upwards beyond the upper functional surface (5) and the safety railing (8) being positioned beyond or outside the upper functional surface (5) along the main direction (1). The lower projection depth (9) measured along the main direction (1) of the balcony assembly in the region of the lower functional surface (3) is less than the upper projection depth (10) measured along the main direction (1) of the balcony assembly in the region of the upper functional surface (5).
