Zusammenfassung:	A process of forming a shaped cooling passage (18; 34) in an article (10) comprising positioning the article (10) within a laser drilling apparatus; laser ablating a near net-shaped cooling passage (18; 34) having a meter section (48) and a diffuser section (52); forming a re-cast (60) on an interior wall of said cooling passage (18; 34) in both the meter section (48) and the diffuser section (52); positioning the article (10) within an electric discharge machining apparatus; and electric discharge machining said re-cast (60) from said interior wall at both the meter section (48) and diffusor section (52) with the same electric discharge machine electrode (64) to form a finished shaped cooling passage (18; 34).
