Zusammenfassung:A data transmission method and a data transmission apparatus are provided. The method includes: receiving, by a first access network device, a precoding matrix index PMI from a terminal device; determining, by the first access network device, a weighted precoding matrix based on the PMI and a preset matrix; precoding, by the first access network device, downlink data of the terminal device based on the weighted precoding matrix, to obtain the precoded downlink data, where the weighted precoding matrix is a 4x2 matrix, and values of the last two elements in a first column and the first two elements in a second column of the weighted precoding matrix are all Os; and sending, by the first access network device, the precoded downlink data to the terminal device.
