Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure refers to a composite material and to the method for obtaining the same, that comprises: 45 - 70% (m/m) of slate particles as filler; a polymeric matrix as binder selected from a list consisting of: thermosetting resin, thermoplastic resin, or mixtures thereof; wherein the particle size of the slate particles is less than 500 µm. The composite material of the present invention has improved mechanical qualities when compared with similar products namely impact and bending resistance and also antimicrobial properties.
