Zusammenfassung:	A suspension body (7) for an elevator is disclosed, comprising: a core (21) including a load bearing layer (23) formed of an impregnation resin (103) and a plurality of high-strength fibers (34,203); and a covering layer (22) covering at least a part of an outer periphery of the core (21). The core (21) is divided into a plurality of core segments (26) arranged apart from each other, wherein the covering layer (22) enters a region between the core segments (26) adjacent to each other. A density of the high-strength fibers (34,102) in a center portion of each of the core segments (26) in a thickness direction of each of the core segments (26) is higher than a density of the high-strength fibers (34,102) in both end portions of each of the core segments (26) in the thickness direction.
