Zusammenfassung:An approach is provided to support resource allocation of broadcast or paging control channels. It is determined whether resource is allocated for a logical control channel. One or more fields of a physical downlink control channel is defined to signal the resource allocation for the logical control channel. The physical downlink control channel has a first format to support transmission of data over a downlink channel, and a second format that includes the one or more fields to support allocation of the logical control channel.
