SPACER WITH REINFORCING ELEMENTS

The invention relates to a spacer (1) for insulating glazing units, at least comprising - a polymer hollow profile (1) comprising - a first side wall (2.1) and a second side wall (2.2) arranged parallel thereto, - a glazing cavity wall (3), which connects the side walls (2.1, 2.2) to each other; - an outer wall (4), which is arranged substantially parallel to the glazing cavity wall (3) and connects the side walls (2.1, 2.2,) to each other; - a cavity (5), which is enclosed by the side walls (2.1, 2.2), the glazing cavity wall (3) and the outer wall (4), wherein - a first metal reinforcing element (6.1) is attached to the outside of the polymer hollow profile (1) in a first indentation (7.1) provided for the purpose, so that it encloses the corner between first side wall (2.1) and outer wall (4), - a second metal reinforcing element (6.2) is attached to the outside of the polymer hollow profile (1) in a second indentation (7.2) provided for the purpose, so that it encloses the corner between the second side wall (2.2) and the outer wall (4), - the metal reinforcing elements (6.1, 6.2) are attached in the indentations (7.1, 7.2) in such a way that they each end flush with the side walls (2.1, 2.2) and the outer wall (4), - a gas-tight and moisture-tight barrier film (12) is attached to the first side wall (2.1), the first metal reinforcing element (6.1), the outer wall (4), the second metal reinforcing element (6.2) and the second side wall (2.2) of the polymer hollow body (1), wherein the regions of the two side walls (2.1, 2.2) that adjoin the glazing cavity wall (3) are free of barrier film (12).
