DEVICE FOR APPLYING MARKING TUBES ONTO A CABLE

The invention concerns a device for applying marking tubes onto cables comprising:o at least one buffer pipe (42) which can be arranged in a producing position where it is aligned with a driving axis (300), the buffer pipe having an inner diameter higher than the diameter of the cable (3) to be marked and an outer diameter less than the inner diameter of the marking tubes (2) to be placed whereby marking tubes can be threaded onto the buffer pipe, the buffer pipe being loaded for a cable to be marked with a number of marking tubes (2a-2g), the cable being moved forward along the driving axis to engage and cross the buffer pipe (42) in producing position,o a pushing unit (6) configured for engaging and pushing forward along the driving axis at least one first out marking tube (2a) of the marking tubes threaded on the buffer pipe (42) until this first out marking tube (2a) exits the buffer pipe and is released onto the cable (3).The invention extends to a method for applying marking tubes onto cables using a buffer pipe. The cable is always driven in the same forward direction and there is no limitation concerning neither the length of the cable nor the number and the location of the marking tubes.
