Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a hydrogen production system (1). The problem addressed by the invention is that of making the production of hydrogen more efficient. According to the invention, this problem is solved by means of a hydrogen production system (1) comprising at least one electrolysis device (3) for producing hydrogen by electrolysis, preferably from water. The hydrogen production system (1) also comprises at least one wind turbine (2) comprising a generator for producing electrical power and locally providing the same to the at least one electrolysis device (3). Furthermore, the hydrogen production system (1) comprises at least one compressor system (7) arranged downstream of the electrolysis device (3), for compressing the produced hydrogen. The production of hydrogen gas is thus made more efficient and the load on the power supply grids is reduced.
