The invention relates to a lighting device (1) for a motor vehicle headlight (100), comprising a lighting unit (2) having at least one light source (3) and having at least one attachment optical unit (4), wherein the at least one attachment optical unit (4) has a plurality of light guiding elements (6) and a light exit surface (5), wherein each light guiding element (6) has a light coupling-in surface (61) for feeding in light from at least one light source (3), and wherein light coupling-out surfaces (62) of the light guiding elements (6) lead to the common light exit surface (5) of the attachment optical unit (4). The light exit surface (5) has, at least in sections, a light coupling-out optical unit (50) having convex curvature (56) and having coupling-out grooves (55) at the edges of the light coupling-out optical unit (50), wherein in each case a plurality of light guiding elements (6) with the light coupling-out surfaces (62) thereof are assigned to a light coupling-out optical unit (50).
