A electrically conductive adhesive layer is arranged between facing surfaces of the first sheet metal panel and the second sheet metal panel. In addition, the first sheet metal panel forms a first electrode of the flat electrical component and the second sheet metal panel forms a second electrode of the flat electrical component. A current flow from the first sheet metal panel, through the electrically conductive adhesive layer to the second sheet metal panel occurs perpendicular to the adhesive layer plane.
