Zusammenfassung:	A subsea electric actuator comprising an electric motor, a drive connection from an output of the motor to an input shaft 51 of a two speed gearbox, and a switching mechanism to switch the gearing ratio in the gearbox from a first gearing ratio to a second different gearing ratio delivered to an output shaft 52 of the gearbox. The gearbox may be a planetary gearbox comprising an outer ring gear with inwardly extending teeth, a central sun gear 43 with outwardly extending teeth, and at least one planet gear 44/49 between the ring gear and central sun gear. The switching mechanism may comprise a brake 47 to lock the sun gear to the planet gear and a clutch mechanism 48 to selectively release the sun gear and the at least on planet gear.
