The on-board autopilot control units (32) are adapted to communicate to each other via a data bus (818) and/or in a wireless manner (816). The method further comprises the use of an on-board voting unit (42) adapted to communicate with the on-board autopilot control units (32) and adapted to determine which of the autopilot control units (32) must take over the control the aircraft. |
