Zusammenfassung:	A method for detecting a faulty cell in an electric battery pack includes the following steps: measuring the no-load voltage at the terminals of each cell of the battery pack; calculating the deviation between the no-load voltage measured at the terminals of the cell and an average known no-load voltage as a function of the number of days during which the battery pack was not used; calculating the difference between the calculated deviation and a quantity n·σ, n being an integer no lower than 1, and σ being a known standard deviation which is a function of the number of days during which the battery pack was not used; and detecting a faulty cell if the difference is greater than zero.
