Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for producing a watch case glass (10) having at least one recess. The method comprises the steps: providing an initial glass (1) having an original thickness (d1) greater than a predetermined thickness (d10) of the watch case glass (10); heating the starting glass (1) to a predetermined temperature below the melting temperature of the starting glass (1); pressingat least one recess (2) into the starting glass (1); and processing the starting glass (1) with at least one recess (2) pressed into it such that the thickness of the starting glass (1) is reduced toa predetermined thickness (d10) of the watch case glass (10) for shaping the watch case glass (10). Furthermore, the invention relates to a tool for use in a method for a watch case glass (10) havingat least one recess (2).
