COORDINATE MEASURING AND/OR STAKE OUT DEVICE

A coordinate measuring and/or stake out device (1) designed for hand-held, in particular one-handed, free carriage and movement by a user (100), the device (1) comprising a position giving means (2) for determination of an actual translational position of the device (1) using an external position reference and an orientation giving means (3) for determination of an actual rotational position of the device (1), such that the actual position of the device (1) with respect to all six degrees of freedom of the device (1) can be determined, a radiation source (6) for generation of a radiation beam (5), particular a laser beam, as measuring and/or marking beam for measuring and/or visually marking of an object point (T, T'), a beam steerer (4) for automatic steering of an alignment (AL) of the beam (5), whereby the beam steerer (4) comprises at least two beam steering operating modes (S1, S2, L1, L2, MP, AA1, AA2) which differ in the manner of automatic steering the beam alignment (AL).
