The associative polymer may be obtained by micellar radical polymerization by bringing into contact, in an aqueous medium, hydrophilic monomer dissolved in the aqueous medium, hydrophobic monomers in the form of a micellar solution, at least one radical polymerization initiator, and preferably at least one radical polymerization control agent.
