The run-in guide rail is configured to support a step chain with buffer rollers arranged internally and track rollers arranged externally during the run-in into a sprocket. The run-in guide rail has a first support surface for supporting the buffer rollers and a second support surface, arranged alongside the first support surface, for supporting the buffer rollers. In addition, a passenger conveyance device comprising step chains, sprockets and at least one aforementioned run-in guide rail is disclosed.
