The invention relates to a housing for accommodating a lithium ion storage-battery cell, comprising: a U-shaped main body (2), which has a bottom (3) and two side walls (4, 5); a first and a second front cover (10, 11) and a first and a second rear cover (12, 13), a fire protection material being arranged between the first and second front covers (10, 11) and between the first and second rear covers (12, 13); a first and a second lid part (14, 15), which are arranged at a distance from each other, a gap space (16) thus being formed; a covering made of a fire protection material, which covering lies against the second lid part (15), the bottom (3) and the side walls (4, 5); and connecting elements (22, 23) provided at the housing bottom side and/or at the housing top side and connecting element receptacles (24, 25) provided at the housing bottom side and/or at the housing top side in the housing vertical direction (27), the connecting elements (22, 23) and the connecting element receptacles (24, 25) being designed so as to correspond to each other.
