The medical implant comprises an expandable framework including a plurality of projections, wherein the framework is configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The medical implant comprises a plurality of cushioning members, wherein each one of the plurality of cushioning members includes a first end coupled to a corresponding projection and a second end coupled to the expandable framework. The plurality of projections extend circumferentially around a central axis of the expandable framework. The at least one of the plurality of cushioning members includes a curved portion designed to minimize trauma to a target site.
