Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a box-type structure which comprises a simple structure having neutron beam shielding performance, and in which it is possible to accommodate an organism to be irradiated. A box-type structure (10) is provided with shielding plates comprising a lithium-fluoride sintered body having neutron shielding performance, wherein edge portions of the shielding plates (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) are joined by abutting against one another. The edge portions of the shielding plates have a halving joint structure, and the halving joint structure preferably has a stepped or inclined cutout shape. The box-type structure has a plurality of surfaces, and at least one of the faces may be removable or there may be an opening portion (20) in part of said surface.
