Zusammenfassung:An illustrative example elevator sensor device (30) includes at least one sensor (32) supported on a door (28) of an elevator car (22). The sensor (32) provides an output including an indication of at least movement of the door (28) along at least one axis and movement of the elevator car (22) along at least one axis. A processor (34) associated with the at least one sensor (32) receives the output and determines at least one characteristic of the movement of the door (28) based on the indication of the movement of the door (28). The processor (34) also determines a location of the elevator car (22) where the movement of the door (28) occurs based on the indication of movement of the elevator car (22).
