Zusammenfassung:	A method of purifying alcohol produced in a process that includes the Oxo process is disclosed. Aldehyde from the Oxo process that remains with the alcohol is removed by a reaction with an alkali sulphite to produce an insoluble adduct and alcohol having a reduced amount of aldehyde mixed with it. The adduct is removed from the alcohol by filtration.
