Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a process for preparing a masterbatch of treated particles of calcined anthracite, and a masterbatch. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of treated particles of calcined anthracite in the production of vinyl aromatic polymer granulate and foam. Treatment according to the invention is performed with one or more agents selected from silanes and siloxanes, the silane or siloxane having 1) one or more C1- to C3-alkoxy groups and 2) one or more C1- to C30-alkyl groups.
