The electric vacuum cleaner 1 includes: a body housing 11 provided with a handle storage recess 11a; a handle 14 that is provided on the body housing 11 and can move between a storage position in which the handle 14 is entered the handle storage recess 11a and a use position in which the handle 14 is released from the handle storage recess 11a; and a handle holding mechanism 61 that holds the handle 14 being in the storage position in the handle storage recess 11a.
