Zusammenfassung:A device and a method in a vehicle which is controlled in autonomous or highly-automated driving mode without intervention of the driver or in a manual driving mode by the driver of the vehicle, the device evaluating and storing data, and the device including a memory unit, in which data are recorded which at least include pieces of information about whether the autonomous or highly-automated driving mode was active or the manual driving mode was active at a collision point in time or up to shortly before the collision point in time. Sensor signals from driver-actuatable operating elements and from collision recognition units are evaluated.
