Zusammenfassung: | There is disclosed a patient interface (132) for a respiratory therapy system (100) comprising:- first and second nasal prongs (134A,134B);- a manifold (136);- a first passageway (126) associated with the first nasal prong and second passageway (130) associated with the second nasal prong;wherein the first passageway is adapted to deliver a gas flow to the manifold and the first nasal prong and wherein the second passageway is adapted to deliver an expiratory gas flow from the patient and the second nasal prong to the manifold; and- a barrier (138) adapted to isolate the gas flow in the first passageway from the expiratory gas flow in the second passageway. The patient interface is preferably formed as a non-sealing nasal cannula allowing to deliver a high flow of positive gas to an airway of a patient and a negative flow of gas away from an airway of the patient. The positive and negative flows of gas can be generated simultaneously. The flow of positive and negative gases reduces exhaled gases in anatomical dead spaces of the patient. |
