The invention provides a suction appliance comprising a fan device (27) for generating a suction stream, a dirt-collecting container (12), a filter device (21), wherein the dirt-collecting container (12) is in flow connection with the fan device (27) via the filter device (21), and a cleaning device (31) for the filter device (21), wherein the filter device (21) comprises at least a first filter (22) and a second filter (23), wherein the first filter (22) and the second filter (23) have different filter actions, and wherein the first filter (22) and the second filter (23) are arranged in series, as seen in relation to the suction stream, wherein the first filter (22) is spaced apart from the cleaning device (31) and the second filter (23) is positioned between the first filter (22) and the cleaning device (31), wherein the cleaning device (31) is provided for cleaning the first filter (22), and wherein the cleaning device (31) acts on the first filter (22) via the second filter (23).
