Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to embroidered material (200, 45, 55) portions for incorporation into an article of footwear, and systems and methods for the manufacture thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to an article of footwear having an upper (310, 315, 605, 705, 960) with a sole (320) structure, the upper (310, 315, 605, 705, 960) including a first upper (310, 315, 605, 705, 960) element including a base layer (205, 395, 610) and a first structural layer including at least one first fiber embroidered onto the exterior surface of the base layer (205, 395, 610), the at least one first fiber forming a plurality of first elongate structural elements extending over the exterior surface of the base layer (205, 395, 610) to provide discrete localized structural support to the base layer (205, 395, 610).
