The secondary battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode current collector (28) attached to an electrode group (4), a sealing body (14) including a lid plate (16) and a positive electrode terminal (22), and a current collecting lead (34) interposed between the positive electrode current collector (28) and the sealing body (14), and joined to the positive electrode current collector (28) and the sealing body (14), in which the current collecting lead (34) has a top wall (50) located on a side of the sealing body (14), a bottom wall (36) facing the top wall (50), and located on a side of the positive electrode current collector (28), and a pair of side walls (42 and 44) extending between a side edge of the top wall (50) and a side edge of the bottom wall (36), and facing each other, and the top wall (50) includes faced parts (52c and 54c) facing the bottom wall 36, and extension parts (52a, 52b, 54a and 54b) extending outward from the faced parts (52c and 54c), and the extension parts (52a, 52b, 54a and 54b) are joined to the lid plate (16).
