IRONING APPLIANCE INCLUDING AN IRON AND A PORTABLE BASE PROVIDED WITH A PIVOTABLY MOUNTED HANDLE

An ironing appliance comprises an ironer and a portable base. The portable base comprises a part for placing the ironer and a handle. Between a transportation position and a retraction position, the handle is pivotably arranged around an axis (X). On the transportation position, the handle extends above the part and passes through a whole handle transportation facility; and on the retraction position, the handle is arranged towards the part so as to get close to the part. The base comprises a locking device. The locking device allows the handle to be fixed on the transportation position. The ironing appliance is characterized in that the locking device comprises an unlocking button; the unlocking button can rotate around an rotation axis (R); the rotation axis (R) is parallel to the rotation axis (X); the unlocking button can enter the unlocking position from a locking position through the rotation around the axis (R); in the locking position, the locking device locks the handle on thetransportation position, and on the unlocking position, the handle is unlocked and can enter the retraction position.
