Zusammenfassung:	A method includes obtaining one or more modified properties associated with at least one of an alarm to be generated by an industrial process control and automation system and a process controller within the industrial process control and automation system. The method also includes obtaining historical data associated with actual operation of the control and automation system. The method further includes simulating operation of one or more components of the control and automation system using the one or more modified properties. The method also includes identifying one or more simulated alarms generated during the simulated operation of the one or more components using the one or more modified properties. In addition, the method includes outputting the one or more simulated alarms. The method could also include receiving one or more approvals of the one or more modified properties and providing the one or more modified properties to the process controller.
