Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for controlling the speed of a vehicle, the method comprising the steps of:- activating a driving assistance function (S10), said driving assistance function limiting the speed of the vehicle to a maximum speed value, wherein the driving assistance function enables the driver to decrease the speed of the vehicle below said maximum speed value without deactivating the driving assistance function;- monitoring the speed of the vehicle (S11); and- automatically lowering the speed of the vehicle if the speed exceeds the maximum speed value (S12).
