Zusammenfassung: | The present invention is to setting up a barrier between the duodenum (the most digestive organ of human body) and the food that a patient eats. In this way, the barrier will block the duodenum from digesting the chyme, and thus preventing the patient from taking in excess calories, which will help the patient to manage his/her blood sugar level or body weight. Such barrier is often deployed via operational procedures in order to position the barrier at the right place, and retrieved once the patient finishes his/her treatment session. The present invention adapts biodegradable material into such barrier to ensure that the barrier will hydrolyzed in the patient's body by itself without the need of retrieval. The present invention also adapts radio-opaque material into the barrier to monitor degradation progression in order to detect barrier displacement or unwanted side effect, such as ileus. |
