In one embodiment, the portable handheld radio and the spare battery receive power from a vehicle via the mobile mount. In another embodiment, the mobile mount is configured to removably attach the handheld radio to a charging mechanism. In another embodiment, the mobile mount is configured to removably attach the spare battery via a rotational locking mechanism.
