The invention relates to a method for producing a data page, a book block, and a book-like document, to a data page, to a book block, and to a book-like document which comprises a data carrier (20) with a tab (23) that is secured thereto and is made of a textile strip material. The tab (23) is trimmed to a size which is smaller than the spacing of the cutting lines (57) in order to form lateral edges (35, 36) of the data carrier (20) in the final format, thereby forming end faces (37, 38), prior to combining the tab (23) and the data carrier (20). At least the end faces (37, 38) of the tab (23) are sealed or a tab (23) with a sealed strip material is provided, and the tab (23) is positioned so as to form an overlapping region (31) with the data carrier (20) and is connected to said data carrier, wherein each end face (37, 38) is aligned so as to be set back inwards relative to the cutting line (57).
