METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROTECTING DIGITAL CONTENT USING DEVICE AUTHENTICATION

The invention relates to a method for protecting digital content in an electronic apparatus, the method comprising: receiving, by a main operating system which is run by a first part of a processor of the electronic apparatus, a request associated with a contents provider server; transmitting, by the main operating system, device authentication information to the contents provider server, wherein the device authentication information is provided by a secure operating system which is run by a secure part of the processor of the electronic apparatus and the device authentication information comprises information indicating whether a secure mode is supported; processing secure contents corresponding to the request using the secure part of the processor when the device authentication information satisfies a condition for the secure contents and the secure contents is received from the contents provider server; and processing normal contents using the first part of the processor when the normal contents is received from the contents provider server, wherein the secure part of the processor which is distinguished from the first part of the processor.
