MOVEABLE VEHICLE SEAT ASSEMBLY

A seat assembly for a vehicle comprising at least one stem (12, figure 1), (112, figure 3), (212, figure 4), (312, figure 5), (412, figure 6B). The stem(s) extends downwardly from the seat with a runner at its distal end. The runner moveably engages a track (14, figure 1) on the vehicle floor permitting motion of the seat. A web covering, e.g. carpet 20 has a longitudinal opening in register with the track, allowing the runner to move along the track. The opening has a zip fastener 30 comprising a pair of mutually-opposing teeth 32A, 32B and first and second sliders 40A, 40B mounted on the zip teeth in opposite directions. Simultaneous movement of the sliders along the teeth causes one slider to open the teeth and the other to close the teeth, wherein the sliders are connected to opposing sides of the stem(s) and the teeth are in a closed condition at all points along the zip fastener other than between the two sliders. The carpet slit may be closable by the zip fastener at all points save for where the stem(s) are positioned (figure 4), e.g. with an invisible zip fastener, akin to a dress zip fastener.
