Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an electric device having power electronics which are accommodated in a metal housing, wherein components of the power electronics are disposed on a first main surface of a circuit carrier consisting of a metallic baseplate and at least one layer of structured conductive material on a dielectric, and at least one dividing wall of the housing is in direct contact with a fluid cooling medium. Said electric device is characterized in that the dividing wall of the housing is formed at least partially by the circuit carrier, such that the second main surface opposite the component side is in direct contact with the fluid cooling medium, and in that the circuit carrier is connected to the rest of the housing in a fluid-tight manner by means of a welded connection. A method according to the invention for producing such an electric device provides for the circuit carrier to be connected to the rest of the housing in a fluid-tight manner by means of a friction stir welding method.
