METHOD OF PRODUCING A HOLLOW SYNTHETIC BRISTLE, A HOLLOW SYNTHETIC BRISTLE AND A PAINT BRUSH COMPRISING SUCH HOLLOW SYNTHETIC BRISTLES

The present invention concerns a method of producing a hollow synthetic bristle (1) for a paint brush. A cross-sectional area of the hollow synthetic bristle is cylindrical or oval shaped or S-shaped and the hollow synthetic bristle has an approximate even wall thickness along the length of the synthetic bristle before being chemically tipped. The method comprises: arranging a first end of the hollow synthetic bristle (1) in a holder; immersing a part (2) of a second end of the hollow synthetic bristle (1) in a chemically tipping fluid, and lifting up the hollow synthetic bristle (1) from the chemically tipping fluid after a period of time. The part (2) of the hollow synthetic bristle (1) that is immersed in the chemically tipping fluid is 1-30% of the length of the hollow synthetic bristle (1).
