The invention relates to a separable connector (1) for a medium or high voltage power network for receiving an electrical conductor (6) capable of conducting a medium or high voltage, the separable connector comprising:- an insulation body (12) surrounding the electrical conductor (6), wherein the insulation body (12) comprises at least two openings,- optionally an inner semi conductive or electrically conductive layer (3) on the inside of the insulation body (12),- a semi conductive or electrically conductive layer (13) on the outside of the insulation body (12),- an electrically insulating intermediate layer (15),- an electrically conductive outer screen (16),wherein the electrically conductive outer screen (16) extends over the entire semi conductive or electrically conductive layer (13) and wherein the electrically insulating intermediate layer (15) extends between the semi conductive or electrically conductive layer (13) and the electrically conductive outer screen (16).
