The invention relates to a value document, comprising a value document substrate having a value document substrate control feature and an elongate security element, introduced into the value document substrate, having a security element control feature, wherein the security element extends from one end of the value document substrate to another end of the value document substrate and is introduced into the value document substrate such that the security element control feature is oriented with respect to the value document substrate control feature, and the security element has precisely one long magnetic code that extends essentially over the entire length of the elongate security element introduced into the value document substrate.
