Zusammenfassung: | In a first aspect the present invention relates to a process for modifying lignocellulose-containing products including wood and wood-base materials where as a wood-modifier for impregnating the lignocellulose-containing products a low molecular weight phenol formaldehyde resin is employed which is dissolved in a solvent and which has a number average molecular weight of 600 g/mol or less. In a further aspect the present invention is directed to a process for producing lignocellulose-containing products including wood or wood-base materials comprising the step of modifying according to the invention at least a portion of the lignocellulose-containing products according to the present invention and subsequently producing these products. In a preferred embodiment ply materials are produced from veneers. The present invention further relates to modified lignocellulose-containing products obtainable by a process according to the invention. Finally, the present application is directed to the use of low molecular weight phenol formaldehyde resins as wood modifiers in lignocellulose-containing products including wood and wood-base materials for improving color stability. |
