The invention relates to a method for determining the set of elements placed in the interior (101) of a container (100) having an aperture (102) allowing one or more elements (200, 201) to be added to or removed from the interior of said container, each element being physically fastened to a radio tag (300, 301) storing an identifier, said method including: a step of continually monitoring for a movement through said aperture (102), triggering, in case of detection of a movement, the generation of a detection signal that leads to first, second and third readouts of the radio tags, these readouts being carried out in a preset period of time starting from the moment of detection and by means of a radio antenna suitable for radiating radiation into a zone corresponding substantially to the interior; and updating the set on the basis of the identifiers read during the first, second and third readouts.
