Therapeutic uses thereof and cosmetic and imaging applications are also provided. The nanoparticle preferably presents a homogeneous coating of 6-mer galacto-oligosaccharides at each cavity on its surface and can be for use in the treatment, amelioration, or prevention of a disease or condition characterised by the presence of damaged and/or senescent cells.
