GUIDE VANE FOR AN AXIAL KAPLAN TURBINE

An inlet for an axial turbine comprises a hub and a plurality of rotatable guide vanes arranged circumferentially around the hub, the guide vanes each comprising an inner contour continuously connected by a vane surface to an outer contour in a radial direction from the hub, wherein the outer contour is farther from the hub than the inner contour, wherein the inner contour comprises an inner camber line with an inner curvature and the outer contour comprises an outer camber line with an outer curvature, the outer curvature being smaller than the inner curvature at least in a central portion of the outer contour, and wherein the outer contour is twisted with respect to the inner contour to allow a closing of the inlet when the guide vanes are rotated.
